YOUR PET'S HEALTH AND WELFARE Whilst your pet is in my care its health and welfare is my primary concern. It will only ever be groomed according to it's tolerance of the process. If your pet is fearful of any of the procedures employed during grooming, a work around or alternative will be employed. Occasionly during grooming a pre-existing condition may be condition may be discovered which you may not have been aware of. I will notify you of this, so that you can seek veterinary advice. Although extremely unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming. In the event of an accident or serious medical issue arising during your pet's groom you authorise me to seek emergency veterinary treatment.
GROOM FEEDBACK You will be given detailed feedback after every groom. If you have any queries or need further clarification, please just ask or contact me at a later stage. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your pet's groom please let me know before I leave. Reasonable requests to alter the trim will be dealt with immediately or changes noted for the next groom. I am more than happy to disclose any details of your pet's groom or advise you about how best to care for your pet's coat
PRICING Starting prices for grooms are a guide for pets: That are used to being professionally groomed on a regular schedule i.e,
- 4 - 6 weeks maximum between appointments for Poodles, Poodle Crosses, Bichon Frise, Bedlington Terrier, Maltese Terrier.
- 6 - 8 weeks maximum between appointments for Shih Tzu's, Lhaso Apso, West Highland Terrier, Schnauzer, Pomeranian, Old English Sheep Dog, Yorkshire Terrier.
- 8 - 12 weeks maximum between appointments for short haired breeds, GSD, Cocker Spaniel, Springer Spaniel, Husky, Malmute, Rough Collie Their coats well maintained between professional grooms ( kept tangle, knot and matt free by regular brushing or combing)
Extra charges will be applied if your pet is, Matted, poorly maintained and / or has an overgrown coat Are difficult to manage during grooming. Overweight or oversized for the breed standard. Timid, anxious or nervous, which require frequent breaks and many need speaical handling. If found to have fleas These cost more time, labour and/ or product. If we are unable to complete a groom due to behavioural problems or aggresion you will be charged the starting price of the groom. All costs are payable in full at the time they are handed back to you.
NEGLECTED AND MATTED COATS In the event that your pet's coat needs to be clipped down to release it from matting or coat neglect, All About Grooming, its owner are not liable for any post-grooming effects of this procedure, which is not without risk. Any humane de-matting will be undertaken solely at my discretion, in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 ( clause 5 - Animals are to be protectedfrom pain, injury and suffering). De-matting during a routine groom is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes and is only possible if the matting is minimal. For severely matted coats where de- matting isnt possible, the only humane way to deal with this will be to completely shave off the coat. You will be given an estimat of how long matt release is likely to take and and estimated cost for the procedure. A shavedown consumes significantly more skill, labour, product and tool/ equipment wear and tear than a routine trim therefore will incur an extra charge. All shavedown costs are payable in full at the time your pet is returned back to you.
AGGRESSIVE AND POORLY SOCIALISED DOGS: THE DANGEROUS DOG ACT I reserve the right to refuse to groom any pet at risk of harming me or itself. If your pet is accepted for grooming and displays aggression that I have not been informed of during its session, the groom will be terminated immediately and I will return your pet. The full starting price of the groom will be levied. You must inform me prior to grooming if your dog has ever bitten or displayed aggression. Failure to disclose this information may result in refusal of further services. Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dog Act, which holds owners liable for bites and injuries caused by their dogs.
BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT All About Grooming is a mobile service, please ensure you have space for a large van to park on your driveway or immediately outside your property so we are able to connect to your electric. For safety reasons the van can not be parked on a busy road. Prior to becoming a client completion of a consultation form is required. All About Grooming reserves the right to request a non-refundable deposit to secure an appointment. Once an appointment is offered if a confirmation is not received within 24 hours to accept the date and time, the appointment is then released and offered to other customers and may no longer be available.
CANCELLING YOUR DOG'S APPOINTMENT I respectfully request 48 hours notice if you need to cancel your pet's appointment. The slot can then be offered to other clients. Failure to give 48 hours, 50% of the groom cost will be payable before any future appointments can be booked.
NO-SHOWS AND LATE CANCELLATIONS (of less than 24hours notice) The full price of your pet's groom must be paid in full where, failure to provide parking, no-show when I arrive or on the day cancellation occurs. This is because as a small business, it can become damaging, despite how it may appear and as much as I adore my job, I still need to earn a living. For notice within 24 hours a charge of 100% of the groom cost will be payable before any future appointments can be booked.
TOILET BEFORE THE VISIT Please ensure your pet has been given the opportunity to go to the toilet before I arrive at your home. Whilst I understand accidents can happen, I would really appreciate if they do it before they come into the van, so it is kept as clean and fresh as possible for them and other pets.
TIME KEEPING I work by appointment only; A time will be allocated for your pet(s) grooming appointment please allow 30 minutes either side of this. If I am able to come earlier I will or in rare cases I am running late, I will contact you. I provide a free appointment reminder text, if you require a reminder by phone please ask. Please phone me if you are running late. I understand that from time to time unforeseen circumstances may arise. Most grooms take between 1 - 3 hours or more depending on the size and temperament of the dog, and its coat condition. It is advisable not to come to the van before this time, as your presence may distract your pet during the finishing stage of its groom.
